DAAPWORKS

what: branded system implementations, including wayfinding, multipage design, wearables, posters, postcards, and more
for: designers, design educators, design students, parents, academic community

Each year, the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (UC DAAP) opens its doors to the public to show off the stunning work of its graduating students. Exhibits fill the building, spanning every floor. And each year, a well-established alumni of the DAAP system is invited to develop a design system to be used in promoting and organizing materials used in this exhibit. Previous participants have included alumni working at Pentagram, Apple, Target, Google, Facebook, and more. The charge given to each alumni team includes the design and development of a poster, as well as at least one other deliverable (postcard, t-shirt, etc.).

Using this established design system, additional materials are created in-house as needed to complete all deliverables. Catalogs, wayfinding, maps, greeting cards, announcements, and more are all developed, fabricated, and distributed over the course of three months (maximum).

Below are the systems developed using original designs by Michael Graves, FAIA (2013) and LPK Global Brands (2017).
