Each year, the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning hosts its annual end of year student exhibit, aptly entitled "DAAP works." Since 2009, DAAP, specifically the dean Robert Probst, has invited an alumni working in an illustrious design firm to develop a visual system or brand for the show. In 2017, in anticipation of his tenth year of doing this, and thanks to a generous grant from Hamilton Caseworks , Dean Probst commissioned a book design showcasing the work of recent graduates, telling the story of DAAP and the DAAP works show.

Content for the book was collected from faculty and students (no small feat, given most had decommissioned their .edu email addresses). Professional photographers working within the DAAP environment were asked to gather images of daily life and various resources. University creative service photographers were brought in for "bigger picture" imagery, as well as event documentation. And external photographers were collaborated with to bring a fresh view on just what makes DAAP so unique.

In the end, what started as a 100-page end-of-year showcase monograph turned into a 270-page celebration of the College, students, faculty, and administration.
